Job Description

SNI Companies is working a with large Data Analytics company in Jersey City, NJ who is seeking a Buyer for their Procurement Team. The Buyer will have responsibility for purchasing goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met.

Job Duties
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected or preferred suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements and make any adjustments, updates, cancellations to these documents
  • Examines and analyzes departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contact department or initiator to clarify or complete information, determines method to process a requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.
  • Follows up and monitor purchase orders to maintain the integrity of the schedule and verify pricing & delivery dates match the order confirmation.
  • Promotes communication across departments to identify and drive toward common policies and best practices to achieve cost reductions.
  • Responsible for the management of platform for the request, and purchase of non-catalog licenses. Work closely with requesters to understand what type of license they are requesting so the correct license is purchased or deployed by our IT division
  • Work with vendors to manage and resolve all purchase order issues, including timelines, pricing disputes, quantity requirements and shipping methods
  • Ability to generate ad hoc reports in assistance the entire department.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in finance, supply chain management or other related fields
  • 3+ years of related procurement experience including purchasing, and bids negotiation, supplier relationships
  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills and behaviors toward internal and external customers and co-workers
  • Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
  • Ability to complete tasks and projects within a timely manner
  • Proficiency in the use of Service Now Platform, PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Teams
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
