Accounting Now, An SNI Companies Division, is looking for you To fill this Collections Clerk Position!

A Collections Clerk who will focus on a positive memorable experience with each member interaction through prompt, friendly, courteous interactions while following credit union procedures. Work in this position requires implementing and running various reports. Provide consistent, exceptional service to internal and external members. Situations can move quickly from low stress to high stress and can require flexible hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Knowledgeable about credit union products, services and the organization
  • Perform all duties in accordance with TOPCU policies & procedures
  • Review all Collateral Protection reports and post to accounts as necessary, including maintenance of payment schedules and other loan records
  • Review and post hold on accounts as well as post remittances for garnishments and levy's served on member's accounts
  • Review and work negative share accounts as needed
  • Conduct investigations on fraud claims filed by members at TOPCU and maintain records of such investigations as necessary
  • Assist in posting payments on members account from the Bankruptcy Courts and Trustee as well as payments received on Charged-off loans
  • Cancelation of GAP and warranty contracts on repossessed vehicles
  • Handle Insurance claims
  • Compile reports for the collection department such as, but not limited to, charge off payments, fraud investigations reports, delinquency reports, CPI reports, foreclosure reports, negative shares, garnishments and levy's, etc.
  • May assist members with requests, problems and complaints
  • Complete daily filing
  • Verify the validity of ID's used for new accounts
  • Understand compliance issues, adhere to regulations, and attend training as related to the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Mandatory compliance of all BSA/AML regulations, forms and procedures:
    • Maintain awareness of and report suspicious activity
    • Complete annual BSA training
    • Notify immediate supervisor of any substantive discrepancies


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:

  • TOPCU's policies and procedures
  • All applicable state and federal regulations
  • Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point), Windows and all programs/software applicable to department

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year member service/customer service experience
