Job Description

SNI Companies is working with a large medical company in Mercer County, NJ who is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join their accounting team. The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of payroll, maintaining payroll related records and general ledger, preparing financial reports, cash management, and assist with accounts payable related transactions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and processing of biweekly payrolls for over 350+ employees and control the administration of the electronic timekeeping system.
  • Process salary changes, deductions, bonuses, vacations payouts, expense reports and other payroll/timekeeping transactions accurately.
  • Track and deduct all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.
  • Process and review all related payroll data and reports.
  • Ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll service.
  • Develop payroll and timekeeping reports.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and timesheet data.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, 1095, etc.)
  • Assist in tax calculations and filing activities as per IRS regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Ensure proper cash management.
  • Post incoming and outgoing wire transfers.
  • Assist with preparation of budgets.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Assist Accounts Payable Specialist as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of electronic payroll experience required.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, QuickBooks and payroll/timekeeping/HRIS systems with the ability to learn new technology platforms.
  • Working knowledge of UKG/Kronos Workforce Ready preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks on a timely basis and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to be detailed oriented with a clear sense of priorities.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
