SNI Companies is working with a Manufacturing company located in Mercer County, NJ who are seeking a Purchasing Assistant
The Purchasing Assistant will join the Accounting team and process all purchase orders upon receipt of requisitions from department's, selects vendor based on price, availability and service; follows up to assure on time delivery This role is 100% person working on site

Marks purchase order to indicate whether items are subject to NJ sales tax
 Verbal requests may be received and information provided in respect to price availability and service prior to  requisitions
 This service is provided for materials and supplies such as:  cork, office furniture and fixtures, oils and greases, shop tools, printing materials, electric motors, electrical and mechanical parts and supplies and other regular and special items.

-For materials and equipment for capital replacement, expansion and improvement, vendors and specifications may be selected by Engineering, Laboratory, Production, etc., but Purchasing Department places all orders
 

-Secures quotations for office equipment, supplies, miscellaneous forms, etc
 Maintains current/accurate files on catalogs, prices, literature, etc
 Secures catalogs for special items upon request
 Maintains insurance certificates on outside contractors.

-Checks acknowledgements of purchase orders for agreement with original
 Puts G/L codes on all POs
 Files all POs on a daily basis.

-Inputs orders on system, updating pricing information, etc
 Updates budget reports on a daily basis
 Tracks "on hold" list on a daily basis.

-Greets and directs salespersons to proper individuals in absence of PURCHASING AGENT/BUYER.

Performs miscellaneous jobs as directed
