SR Accountant

Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the CFO and / or the VP of Finance, the Senior Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance, and contribute to the company’s overall financial stability and success. They will play a critical role in integrating two recent acquisitions into one accounting system and process.

ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS

Responsibilities:

? Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts

? Conduct periodic financial reviews to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

? Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to management based on financial data

? Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations

? Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies

? Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts

? Assist in the development and preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts

? Collaborate with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic budget projections

? Monitor actual performance against a budgeted target and provide variance analysis

? Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets

? Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements

? Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation and support

? Evaluate and recommend enhancements to financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

? Streamline and automate financial processes where possible to increase productivity

? Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure data integrity

Education:

? Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

? Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements

• Experience in public accounting

• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance

• Prior experience in process improvement or system implementation projects

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

• Experience in the construction, manufacturing, production or services industry strongly preferred

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Computer Skills:

? Proficiency in accounting software

? Excel

? Microsoft Office
