Sr Payroll admin
We are looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team at our corporate office in Centennial, CO. This position will initially require five days in the office for training, after which it will transition to a hybrid schedule (three days in the office), where you’ll oversee payroll processing for approximately 2,500 employees.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you will be essential in managing payroll operations while ensuring both accuracy and compliance across our organization. Your duties will include:
Payroll Management
- Oversee the preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of domestic and international payrolls for employees across various jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely and precise payroll processing, including wage and hour compliance, tax deductions, and benefit contributions.
- Administer and optimize payroll systems, overseeing integrations with both existing and new platforms to streamline operations.
Audit & Compliance
- Perform regular payroll audits to ensure precision, adherence to federal, state, and international regulations, and compliance with company policies.
- Stay informed on payroll regulations and labor laws, implementing necessary updates to ensure compliance and alignment with industry standards.
Reporting & Analysis
- Create and deliver customized payroll reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including leadership and auditors.
- Collaborate with the Finance and HR teams to align payroll data with accounting and financial records.
Employee Support & Communication
- Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related questions, delivering accurate and timely responses to employees and management.
- Guide employees in understanding payroll policies, tax documents, and self-service tools to improve their knowledge and engagement.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Document payroll procedures clearly and thoroughly, ensuring consistency and precision across the organization.
- Actively seek and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
- Train the team on relevant policies, regulations, and processes.
Invoice Reconciliation
- Reconcile payroll-related invoices, ensuring they align with financial records and are processed on time.
Collaboration & Special Projects
- Work alongside HR, IT, and Finance teams to support cross-functional projects and system integrations.
- Contribute to organizational goals by providing payroll insights and participating in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in multi-state payroll processing with a proven ability to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- International payroll experience is a plus, including familiarity with tax treaties and foreign payroll systems.
- Certification such as FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with advanced skills like PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration across teams and with employees.
- Ability to manage confidential payroll data with integrity and maintain privacy.
