Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant will play a critical role in the day to day workings of the Billing Department of Global Software firm.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years prior experience in a similar role, possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and partners both in the US and in Europe.
 

Experience with QuickBooks online or Salesforce a plus 
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance required 

Reporting:

• Provide weekly reports on account status, aging reports, and collection progress.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days sales outstanding (DSO) and collection rates.

Collaboration:

• Work with various departments, such as finance, sales, and customer success, to identify trends and potential issues.
• Assist in the development of strategies to reduce overdue accounts.
• Train staff on collections processes when needed

• Work with customers, partners and team members to ensure a smooth collection process, which may include researching customer transaction history, updating invoice details and providing proper documentations.

Account Management:

• Maintain professional and positive relationships with clients, even in challenging situations.
• Maintain accurate records of all communication with customers, including payment histories, promises, and agreements.
• Update the accounts receivable system(s) with payment status, notes, and any new collection efforts.

Dispute Resolution:

• Address and resolve customer complaints or disputes related to overdue accounts.
• Investigate discrepancies or issues regarding invoices and credit memos.
• Work with other departments (such as billing or customer success) to resolve complex cases..
