Senior Accountant

A manufacturing company in Middlesex county is looking to fill a position for a Senior Accountant. The company is a flavor formulation and ingredient supply company known for its commitment to quality and innovation. Theyare currently looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team and work closely with the Controller to manage various accounting functions.

Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and assisting with audits. This role requires a strong financial background, attention to detail, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial analyses and reports.
• Account Reconciliation: Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Special Analyses: Develop financial analyses as requested by operations and finance management.
• Inventory Management: Develop and analyze inventory reports, monitor transactions, and resolve system issues.
• Fixed Assets: Input, maintain, and review fixed assets.
• System Development: Contribute to developing and amending accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Audit Preparation: Assist with annual audit preparation.
• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
• Tax Returns: Assist with preparing International VAT Tax returns, NJ Sales and Use Tax
• Budgeting: Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
• Reimbursements: Manage employee reimbursements using the Concur platform.
• Special Projects: Provide support for special projects, ad hoc requests, and other duties as assigned.

• Education: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience: 3-5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in the beverage industry.
• Skills:
  • Strong financial analysis and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced functions such as Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
  • Mid-sized ERP software skills are important.
  • CPA or someone sitting for the CPA Exam preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally.
