Accounting Assistant

SNI Companies is working with a Business Services company located in Middlesex County, NJ who is seeking an Accounting Clerk
The Accounting Clerk will work with the accounting team and assist with A/P and bookkeeping duties
This role is 100% person working on site.

Responsibilities:

• Process check requests and provide check copies of inquiries as needed
  
• Process weekly California Tax payments and assist with any state or federal payroll audit
  
• Conduct Stop Payments on payroll checks as needed and general banking inquiries
  
• Investigate and resolve returned items from bank partners
  
• Conduct credit card analysis and process expense reports
  
• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions as needed
  
• Utilize financial System to account for all debits/credits and ensure proper documentation has been included
  
• Process drawdown requests
  
• Process monthly commissions
  
• Assist with maintaining SUTA rates in the accounting system
  
• Help with month-end preparation, processing, closing, and reporting
  
• Process EFT transactions and check requests
  
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion
  

Qualifications:

• Associate degree, preferred in Accounting or Finance
  
• 2-5 in similar accounting position
• Experience applying financial accounting practices
  
• Experience with Accounting software and basic accounting functions
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and display initiative
