Staff Accountant

Accounting Now, a division of SNI Companies, has partnered with a nationwide law firm in search of a Staff Accountant on a contract basis.  The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is for general ledger account reconciliations and analysis.

Principal Duties:

• Perform complex monthly account reconciliations for balance sheets and income statements, resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Collaborate with other departments to address accounting issues and maintain organized reconciliation documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements for reconciliation procedures, ensuring efficiency.
• Document and maintain reconciliation procedures and perform other assigned duties.

Job Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification):

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred:

• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA
• Experience with service industry accounting systems
• Prior experience in public accounting
• Familiarity with Aderant strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts at $36.05 an hour. Your actual pay rate will be determined based upon your skills, knowledge and abilities, including work experience.

RTD Pass:  Company Paid
Hours:  Monday – Friday (8 am to 5 pm)
Terms:  Contract 6+ months
