Sr. Staff Accountant
Job Description: AP/GL Accountant
SNI Companies is seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant. This role requires strong communication skills and regular interaction across departments. The Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing general ledger and accounts payable functions, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and supporting the Controller with various tax and budgeting tasks. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts.
- Review vendor invoices for policy compliance and reasonableness.
- Train employees on expense reporting guidelines and ensure adherence.
- Analyze and record entries for invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions.
- Support tax accruals, filings, and reconcile vendor statements.
- Assist with month-end accruals and provide reporting support for project accounting.
- Recommend process improvements for AP functions and maintain thorough documentation.
- Work closely with the Controller on budgeting, forecasting, and additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in staff or general ledger accounting, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in project accounting or experience in construction/engineering.
- Leadership experience and 8+ years in accounting are a plus.

- Effective problem-solving, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and ability to handle confidential information.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position starts in the range of $35-40/hr during the contract to hire period, with a bump starting at $75K+ after conversion. Insurance, and other benefit options that are offered include:
