Payroll admin
We are currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team at our headquarters in Centennial, CO. This is an in-office position where you’ll assist in processing payroll for roughly 2,500 employees.
Key Responsibilities
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be integral in managing payroll operations while ensuring compliance and precision throughout the organization. Your tasks will include:
Payroll Management:
- Oversee the preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll for employees in various jurisdictions, both domestically and internationally.
- Review timesheets and expense claims.
- Calculate and document payroll deductions and taxable benefits.
Audit & Compliance:
- Perform regular payroll audits to verify accuracy and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international laws, as well as adherence to company policies.
- Keep updated on payroll laws and labor regulations, implementing necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Create customized and ad-hoc reports based on the needs of both internal and external stakeholders, including management and auditors.
- Complete state labor surveys and respond to requests for employment and income verification.
- Collaborate with finance and HR teams to align payroll data with accounting and financial records.
Employee Support & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing clear and accurate information to employees and management.
- Educate staff on payroll policies, tax documentation, and self-service tools to improve their understanding and engagement.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Clearly document payroll processes to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization.
- Continuously assess and introduce process improvements to boost efficiency and minimize errors.
Collaboration & Special Projects:
- Work closely with HR, IT, and Finance teams to support cross-functional projects and system upgrades.
- Contribute to organizational goals by offering payroll-related insights and participating in special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a similar field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- FPC certification (strongly preferred).
- Experience with international payroll, including knowledge of tax treaties and foreign payroll systems (a plus).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change quickly.
- High level of interpersonal skills to manage confidential information with professionalism.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple demands, handle high-pressure situations, and maintain a composed attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and respond positively to management direction and feedback.
