Payroll Specialist

Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the processing of payroll for employees. The candidate will assist and support all personnel through a variety of tasks related to the effectiveness of the company.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bi-weekly processing of payroll files for employees.
• Processing new hires, rehires, terminations and pay rate changes.
• Reconcile and audit payroll for accuracy.
• Prepare journal entries for accounting.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Answer manager and employee payroll questions
• Special Projects as needed.
• Effectively use various computer software payroll systems.
• Manage a high-volume number of accounts.
• Skilled at managing time to ensure all deadlines are met.

Qualifications/Education & Experience:

• College Degree preferred; high school diploma required at minimum.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Comprehension of accounting, auditing, and/or bookkeeping principles, and practices.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with effective time management skills.
• Assertive and collaborative in nature.
• Excellent computer skills- Microsoft Office or 365
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Effective multi-tasking skills, by successfully prioritizing tasks.
