Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist performs collections calls, and administrative duties to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts. He or she processes billing and receivables and maintains an up-to-date billing system.



  • Makes collection calls for past due accounts
  • Manages invoicing and payments for customer accounts
  • Maintains an up-to-date billing system
  • Performs account and bank reconciliations and resolves payment discrepancies
  • Investigates and resolves customer queries
  • Processes adjustments and refunds
  • Collects data and prepares monthly metrics
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • High volume data entry


  • One to three years of experience in collections
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
  • High school diploma required
  • One to three years of billing or general accounting experience
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Experienced with business applications and accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Able to deal with confidential information appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
