Job Description

Payroll Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Process and record payroll for multiple properties, including accruals reversals.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.).
  • Perform tasks as assigned by members of the management staff.
  • Assist with AR AP as well as multiple Accounting Projects as needed
  • Maintain and enforce policies and procedures for internal control compliance.
  • Process and Run Multi state Payroll Weekly
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
  • Confirm data entered into spreadsheets and the payroll system is accurate
  • Maintain payroll operations by training/instructing employees in the proper use of payroll-related systems including entry of time sheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
  • Contact employees via email and phone to collect time sheet approvals
  • Other duties as assigned


  • At least 3 years of Multistate Payroll Processing Experience
  • Payroll software experience preferred (ADP ARIBA a Plus)
  • Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
  • Accounts receivable Accounts Payable experience required
  • Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience desired
  • High attention to detail and possess excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to easily learn new systems
  • Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
