Job Description


Accounting Now has partnered with a well known Law Firm located in Addison, TX seeking an AR Clerk to join their team! This person will handle all cash receipts and prepare daily deposits for operating and IOLTA trust accounts. Assisting the AP and billing dept will be on an as needed basis only!
Primary Functions:

  • Open daily mail and organize checks.
  • Reconcile checks to A/R.
  • Process all transfers and check requests for IOLTA Trust accounts.
  • Process client credit card payments
  • Prepare daily deposits for Operating and Trust accounts.
  • Maintain daily spreadsheets.
  • Post all receipts to Operating and Trust accounts.
  • Monthly maintenance and reconciliation of client Trust ledgers; month-end balance verification



Secondary Function:

  • Assist billing, including electronic billing, and Accounts Payable as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly management reports and month-end closing procedures.
  • Assist Controller with general ledger month-end closing.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements for the following accounts:
  • IOLTA Trust
  • Cost
  • 125 Special
  • Two Leasehold North
  • Payroll preparation experience helpful.
  • Telephone exceptions entry.
  • Process client requests for account payments (setup).
  • Adhoc client A/R reporting per attorney request.


Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand basic Accounting principles, basic mathematic functions, and basic filing principles.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with personnel of all levels in a professional, friendly manner.
