Job Description


In this Clerical Assistant role, you will work in a team environment for a Central CT municipality for 29 hours per week with a semi-flexible schedule. This is a great opportunity for someone with customer service skills, strong attention to detail, ability to accurately verify data and record official documents, and eager to learn and be part of a team. The successful candidate wants to work in a professional environment and enjoys interacting with the public.

Your typical work activities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting customers
  • General office duties such as data entry, filing, copying and record keeping
  • Maintains and updates assessment records
  • Answering questions related to property information
  • Prepares and processes real estate sales, personal property and motor vehicle information
  • Coordinates information with other town departments to insure uniformity of information and procedures
  • Enters permit applications into the database for the Building Department
  • Scanning, laser fiche, and filing of documents



Requirements include:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Works independently
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and database skill and experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year of administrative experience in a customer oriented environment
  • Real Estate or similar experience a plus
