Job Description

This position is responsible for applying payments from customers accurately and in a timely manner.


  • Works Lock box decision items.
  • Upload spreadsheet batches for posting.
  • Uses reports to apply cash that has been left unapplied on accounts.
  • Supplies credit card payment to accounts.
  • Reverses returned checks.
  • Contacts customer in reference to application of payments on account.
  • Researches and corrects application issues.
  • Assists with related special projects, as required.


  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in written or oral form.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to use 10 key adding machine.
  • Ability to type 40 wpm.
  • Proficient in Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
  • Experience using JD Edwards or some type of accounting software and AS400 preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Detail orientated.

One year working experience in accounting, banking, or collections preferred.
