Job Description

SNI Companies - Accounting Now has partnered with a reputable company in FRANKTOWN, CO in their search for a Controller

Title: Controller

Wage: $125,000 annually

Location: Franktown, CO

Direct Hire, Permanent

Position Details:

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and any external reporting requirements
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets and actual expenditures
  • Consistently evaluate business processes to identify and implement efficiencies across functional areas
  • Accurate and timely completion of the monthly, quarterly, and annual periodic close processes and company financial statements.
  • Coordinate all audit activity
  • Responsible for working with our external tax accountants and service providers to ensure the timely tax preparation, planning and compliance with all federal, state and local corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes
  • Responsible for cash flow and operational forecasting
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate
  • Work closely with department heads to support their reporting needs to make effective business decisions
  • Assist in risk management of company
    • Manages the day to day operation of the accounting department
    • Prepare journal entries
    • Reconciliations of accounts
    • Manages month-end close process
    • Prepare various period financial statements; prepare monthly forecasts; analyze and communicate monthly actual, forecast and budget variances to senior management.
    • Prepare tax filings
    • Identifies best practices develops policy & procedures
    • Maintain, train, develop and hire staff
    • Special projects as requested
    • Works cross functional with multiple departments

Leadership / Management

  • Leverage strengths of the current accounting team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities to reach optimal individual and organizational goals
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred, Public Accounting experience preferred
  • 5-10 years' experience in corporate accounting
  • Experience with Great Plains preferred
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and organization that work to create a hands-on strategic thinker who will own the accounting function of the networks
  • Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Office Experience with strength in Excel
