Our client has a direct hire opportunity for a Director of Procurement. The Director of Procurement's responsibilities include implementing innovative process and procedures to drive cost savings. Plan and coordinate the work of buyers and others to ensure procedures and policies are followed. Director of Procurement should demonstrate a high level of integrity, character, morals, ethics and lead by example.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement best practices in procurement processes and procedures
  • Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures and performance metrics
  • Develop sourcing and procurement activities that support key business objectives.
  • Manage key milestones by aligning with multiple departments to ensure all production facilities have material and parts in a timely manner to optimize productivity
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements for Procurement Services.
  • Ensure the execution of procurement strategies across the firm to ensure consistent and high quality value delivery.
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
  • Manage recruiting, training and supervising a team who are responsible for day-to-day category management activities.
  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all categories within span of control including targets, timelines and resource plans.
  • Analyze market and delivery trends so as to develop procurement processes that support those trends.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral as well as strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent comprehension and information retention.
  • Ability to identify, define and resolve problems.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborated with different departments and have full transparency
  • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task in a fast pace work environment.
  • Ability to work well with people in a number of positions, from administration to executive employees


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related field
  • Utility/steel experience preferred
  • Results-oriented and metrics-driven leader
