Job Description


Finance Manager is responsible for all accounting and financial activities of the company, including financial reporting and analysis, internal financial and business policy compliance, tax compliance, management of external professional activities, banking, general accounting, account reconciliations, and internal controls activities. Oversees the accounting staff and IT Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Direct daily activities of accounting and provide oversight of staff within all offices.
  • Provide financial leadership regarding all financial matters.
  • Coordination of budgeting and analysis requirements determined by the corporate officers.
  • Execution of internal controls policies and procedures.
  • Primary company representative for managing banking, bonding, and insurance transactions.
  • Manage the monthly close process in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Regular interface to the various office staff and management for matters of financial reporting, policy approvals, annual budgeting and monthly financial analysis.
  • Lead accounting process improvements and financial systems upgrades including coordination of financial systems.
  • Facilitate meaningful productive monthly budget/financial meetings.
  • Development of financial long-and short-range plans.
  • Review of financial statements, financial information of customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other businesses with which the company conducts business.
  • Enhance cash position by monitoring A/P, A/R and collections. Work directly with staff to collect all past due receivables and retainage as soon as contractually allowed.
  • Establishment of tax policies, tax planning, and oversight of preparation of all corporate tax filings.
  • Oversee the flow of cash and financial instruments.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or business management with emphasis on accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years' demonstrated experience in accounting and financial management within the construction industry preferred.
  • CPA designation (desired).
  • Willing to travel 20%.
  • Strong data analysis with ability to apply good business judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and leadership skills.
