General Financial Accountant
Vacancy: Springfield MA 40 Hrs. Mon-Fri, Direct Hire
Reports to:
Chief Financial Officer
The primary responsibilities of the general Ledger/Financial Accountant include: Working with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll positions regarding posting and reconciling subsidiary ledgers to the General Ledger. Preparation of general ledger journal entries, general account reconciliation and analysis, including preparation of financial reports to funding sources and internal financial statements. Assist in the preparation of budgets; provide guidance and assistance to accounting staff.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and minimum 3 years of experience in financial accounting required. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities of a General Ledger Financial Accountant include preparing financial reports to funding sources and prepare Budget to actual reports for programs. Prepare monthly internal financial statements, including Statement of Activities and balance sheet. Prepare and review payroll tax returns for all states. Responsible for preparation of monthly bank reconciliations. Monitor prepaid account balances, and accrued liability accounts. Ensure timely and appropriate amortization of amounts. Analyze debt and interest accounts insure proper balances and reconciliation to amortization schedules. Assist the Chief Financial Officer by performing any analysis required and providing observations and financial analysis as seen fit. Perform Year-end work. Maintain any monthly, quarterly and annual account analysis and other schedules as required.
