Accountant II
SNI Companies has partnered with a leading healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant II to join their accounting team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions while gaining exposure to various specialized areas within the organization.
Contract Details:
- Contract duration: Up to 3 months
- Schedule: Onsite in Irving Headquarters
- Pay: $29/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record accurate month-end journal entries for assigned functional accounting areas in compliance with U.S. GAAP standards.
- Analyze the purpose and accuracy of journal entries, including account coding and financial statement classifications, ensuring proper documentation and approvals are in place.
- Evaluate data sources for journal entry support, raising follow-up questions when necessary to ensure information integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other accounting team members to maintain organized records and ensure consistency in reporting practices.
- Understand the impact of accounting entries on the organization’s financial statements and provide clear explanations when needed.
- Support various functional accounting areas, which may include:
- Cash Accounting
- Fixed Assets Accounting
- Payroll Accounting
- Prepaid Assets & Deferred Revenue
- Inventory & Supplies Accounting
- Physician Fees & Guarantees Accounting
- Intercompany Accounting & Allocations
- Lease and Technical Accounting
- Health Plan & Grant Accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
- Prior experience preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
