Job Description


Job purpose

To execute timely and efficient clerical support to office staff and management.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Distributing documents, faxes and correspondence
  • Photocopying, scanning and or uploading documents into various document and/or EMR systems
  • Receiving, sorting and distributing mail
  • Processing, researching and correcting "Bad Mail" in client system(s)
  • Completing Medical and Billing Record Requests
  • Following Charity Care Approval Procedures
  • Following Death Certificate and Bankruptcy procedures
  • Maintaining filing systems
  • Use, protect and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Maintain a professional attitude
  • All other duties as directed by Manager



Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Proficient in use of email and internet
  • Accurate keyboard skills
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration a plus
  • Knowledge of EMR systems is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
