We are looking o fill a Payroll Specialist position at our client's St. Paul Administrative office.


RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will report to the Accounting Supervisor. Position will handle all payroll duties associated with the processing of the semimonthly payroll in ADP system for approximately 100 employees. Other tasks will include payroll reporting, managing benefit deductions, tracking of leave balances and the preparation of the payroll portions of grant reports. Depending upon skills and prior experience, other duties could include preparation of salary and benefits allocations, preparation and import of journal entries, accounts receivable invoice preparation, cash receipts processing, preparation of bank and general ledger reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a strong understanding of payroll processing and best practices; two - five years of direct payroll processing is required. Candidates should have a degree in finance or accounting and have a strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Candidates need to demonstrate above average attention to detail and accuracy, ability to understand and follow policies and procedures, good Microsoft Excel and Word skills, effective verbal and written communication skills (in English), ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Candidates should have experience in a professional office environment and be prepared to demonstrate good judgement, the ability to learn quickly, the ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work constructively with others in a team setting. This is a key position and will require excellent attendance and excellent communication skills.


RATE OF PAY: Starting salary dependent upon qualifications and prior experience, very attractive benefit plan available which includes health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 403(b), flexible spending plans, and bus pass plan.
