Job Description

Essential Purchasing Functions:
* Verifies purchase requisitions requested within the Business Portal software; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
* Contacting and placing purchase orders from vendors seeking the best value approach, which consists of price, service, and timing of delivery.
* Maintaining and distributing inventory items, supplies, food, and other items for the administrative offices and other facilities requested by the site managers.
* Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from site managers or authorized personnel at the various locations and pods.
* Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
* Keeps information accessible by sorting, maintaining and filing documents accurately. Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
* Review invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
* Sort and distribute incoming mail. Sort, organize and match PO's, shipping documents, invoices and payment vouchers
* Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms * Process check requests
* Resolve purchase order and or invoice discrepancies
* Correspond with vendors and react to inquiries
