Job Description

SNI Companies has an Immediate opeing for a Quality Inpspector!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming parts from suppliers
  • Prepares and utilizes Inspection Method Sheets (IMS)
  • Verifies part marking and packaging acceptance
  • Performs Source Inspection at Suppliers when required
  • Performs process audits/inspections when required
  • Performs final quality inspection of finished products in accordance with established procedures/methods, utilizing various types of inspection equipment and logs the results into the QMS.
  • Documents all instances of rejected product or material on required forms, i.e., NCR, CAR and preventative action forms. Is a key member of the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Derives supplier ratings for quality metrics (i.e., Supplier Quality, On-time Delivery...) as documented in the ACD Supplier Quality Manual (SQM).
  • Capable of using standard inspection equipment , i.e. depth mics, micrometers, dial bores, air gages, Vernier's, gage pins, gage blocks, thread gages, fixtures, manual CMM, optical comparator, etc.
  • Reports any discrepancies or problems promptly to the quality assurance manager (or engineering manager).
  • Communicates with suppliers relative to problem resolution.
  • Receives, verifies, inspection records (i.e. First Piece, First Article Inspection Reports [AS9102] and Final Inspection Records), material certifications and special process certifications (e.g., heat treat) and inspection (e.g., FPI and MPI)
  • Calibrates and/or setup the following, but not limited to: Sine Plates, Gage Blocks, Gage Pins, Dyer Gages, Swing Gages, Bore Gages, Thread gages, Dial Depth Gages, Diatests, micrometers (OD and ID), mini mics, Air Gages, Set Rings, Intra Mics, Angle Irons, Cylindrical Square, Indicators, Wire Gages, Cadillac Gages, Height Gage, Customer supplied inspection gages and fixtures. Maintains the calibration log to ensure all gages are in calibration
  • Supports engineering relative to reverse engineering projects

Education/Skill:

  • Technical High School diploma (A.S. degree, in Mechanical Technology, Quality or Mfg. a plus).
  • 5 plus years of inspection experience.
  • Ability to read drawings and blue prints to help derive relevant/critical inspection characteristics (working knowledge of GD&T).
  • Has a working knowledge of AS9100D/ISO 9001:2015
  • Has the ability to use spreadsheets (Excel) & Microsoft office.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Can work effectively in a team based environment.
