Job Description

Revenue Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will manage the company's transition and implementation of ASC606 and ASC842 across the globe. The Senior Revenue Accountant will work closely with key stakeholders in the company to ensure revenue accounting policies are being consistently applied and will focus on continuous process improvements as it relates to contract review and supporting the sales, sales operations, order processing and legal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze company revenue streams and communicate to the management team the impact of implementing ASC606 on company financial statements
  • Lead development of accounting policies in support of the transition to new ASC606 revenue recognition guidance
  • Drive adoption of new ASC606 policies across the organization including company's worldwide subsidiary locations
  • Lead evaluation, implementation, integration and improvement of accounting software systems relative to the implementation of ASC606
  • Review customer contracts and sales orders to determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with US GAAP and company policy and to identify any issues
  • Perform accounting research and prepare whitepapers on unusual transactions
  • Prepare monthly close reports and analysis as needed
  • Maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts impacted and associated with implementation of ASC606
  • Act as the point person to assist auditors with any and all revenue related requests
  • Support annual AOP process and assist in setting annual revenue targets
  • Identify process improvements to further streamline revenue accounting processes
  • Partner with sales team and provide feedback on potential accounting implications for new products and sales arrangements
  • Develop systems and reports required to support annual financial disclosure

Qualifications:

  • CPA required
  • 3+ yrs experience in public accounting with extensive and strong functional knowledge and experience with current and upcoming revenue recognition guidance required. Experience with private industry financial reporting and accounting a plus.
  • Experience researching and documenting technical accounting matters
  • Ability to take ownership to lead and drive projects / issues to completion
  • A dedicated, self-motivated person that is ambitious, creative and energetic. A professional who has the ability to adapt to the needs of a rapidly changing environment
  • Should have good working knowledge of MS Office applications and ERP systems, SAP experience desired
