SNI Companies / Accounting Now is actively recruiting for a Senior-Staff Accountant! Our client, an Oil and Gas Company located in Downtown Fort Worth is in immediate need of a high caliber Sr. Staff Accountant candidate! The Sr. Staff Accountant will be supervising of a 3 to 4 person team responsible for high volume (3000+) data reconciliation and preparation of customer billings and invoices.

Senior-Staff Accountant will perform recurring monthly and quarterly accounting tasks by monitoring and reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing accounting entries. This position is responsible for the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions in the general ledger. Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting (GAAP) principles and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. The Sr. Staff Accountant receives limited supervision and guidance.


  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures which includes working closely with internal and external auditors in support of the financial audit on a regular basis.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and financial package and make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Oversee accurate and appropriate recording of accounting entries. This would include areas of responsibility such as ARO, Impairment, Unproved and Proved Property, Accruals, etc.
  • Ability to perform all accounting duties related to assigned area which includes preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, researching differences, answering questions and providing necessary
  • Develop the ability to collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to problems
  • Develop ability to resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for the accounting team.
  • Special projects as assigned.

PREFERRED Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience: 5+ years of experience for a non-degreed candidate; 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree

Oil & Gas Experience / Logistics / Third Party Billing: Preferred
