Job Description

Staff Accountant

This position will be responsible, among other things, for entering bills, planning bill payment, supporting monthly bank reconciliations, and supporting payroll. This role serves a key function within the organization as they will interact with employees, serve as a primary contact for key vendors and manage customer payment systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and record daily and monthly journal entries
  • Perform Accounts Receivable duties, including but not limited to billing and collections
  • Perform Accounts Payable duties, including but not limited to communicating with vendors on questions or issues with bills, employee expense processing
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Support the monthly close process
  • Manage the payroll cycle and properly record payroll entries
  • Assist with the year-end audit
  • Various ad hoc and special projects

QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum of one to two years of accounting experience using U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Previous experience in a start-up environment preferred but not required
  • Previous experience with Quickbooks or any other similar accounting software package
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast paced, high performance environment
  • Motivated and curious to learn
  • Organized and analytical with the ability to solve difficult problems
  • Be known by their fellow colleagues as trustworthy, diligent and reliable
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
