Job Description

Tax Analyst

The Tax Analyst, reporting to Senior Analyst, assists with all tax functions, primarily compliance and provision.



ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare federal (Forms 1120-REIT, 1120, and 1065), foreign information reporting (Forms 5471, 8865, and 8858), state, and local income tax returns, which includes gathering data and preparing workpapers
  • Assist with tax technology and process and system improvement initiatives
  • Assist with the preparation of ASC740 quarterly and annual tax provisions
  • Prepare federal and state income tax estimate and extension calculations
  • Assist with responding to inquiries from tax authorities in connection to tax audits and notices
  • Assist with the preparation of domestic return-to-provision analysis upon completion of the U.S. tax returns
  • Assist with the taxable income calculation and long-term forecast
  • Review regular, AMT, and E&P tax depreciation
  • Assist with REIT test
  • Research tax issues using BNA Tax Management Portfolios
  • Assist with non-recurring tax compliance and/or planning projects that may arise

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aptitude to learn new tools and technologies for process and system improvement
  • Ability to work with functional groups and different levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve business results
  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests and with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify high quality solutions
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Master's in Taxation preferred
  • Between 1-3 years' tax experience in either a large public accounting or corporate environment preferred
  • Experience with tax provision and federal and state income tax compliance issues preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with OneSource tax software, online research tools, and Microsoft Office applications preferred
