Position Overview:
The Tax and Title Mortgage Analyst must be familiar with title search results and documentation. The role requires the ability to identify liens and compare title search results to transaction documentation. This provides an understanding whether liens were outstanding at the time of the loan origination or have been repaid at time of origination and not released by repaid party. A familiarity with lien and encumbrance types including HOA, tax, mechanics and others is necessary in this role.

Essential job functions:

  • Examining chain of title for residential properties, determining status after reviewing real estate titles or abstract county records nationally
  • Review title search reports, title opinions, title searches, mineral rights, easements, surveying, entitlements and documentation in a timely manner
  • Abstract and analyze deeds, mortgages, tax assessments, judgments, incompetency, unknown heirs, forgery, divorce decrees, title deficiencies, affidavit of death, utility easements, bundle of rights and other title instruments
  • Provide solutions for inaccurate, incomplete or missing information on title documentation
  • Determine ownership and encumbrances on real property, prepare and review title reports, secure title policies, make recommendations to cure right of way title gaps
  • Familiarity with Ticor Title, First American Title, Old Republic Title, Investors Title Company and other Title Companies
  • Checks copies of records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plat and map books, determine ownership gaps, legal restrictions through vital records

Must-Have Requirements:

  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • Escrow competency
  • Experience with a variety of servicing output formats
  • Knowledge of RESPA reform 2010 is preferred
  • Excellent PC skills in Word & Excel.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment
