Job Description

The Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization, the collection of outstanding accounts receivable, and reducing the accounts receivable delinquency, in a professional and confidential manner.
The following are essential job functions.

Accounts Receivable
  • Apply customer payments and balance cash receipts daily.
  • Process credit card payments.
  • Make adjustments to accounts as needed.
  • Contact customers to collect receivables that are beyond payment terms and determine the cause of late payments.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Communicate customer issues with sales and customer service.
  • Approve orders on credit hold.
  • Conduct credit investigations of new customers.
  • Recommend credit limit and payment terms for new and existing customers.
  • Provide backup for invoicing functions and tasks.
  • File, photocopy, fax and scan documents as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements / Specifications:

Education: Minimum two-year Associate's degree in Accounting is required.

Experience: Minimum two-three years of experience in the accounts receivable and collections field.
