Job Description

Legal Secretary to Estate and Trust Attorney
Summary of Work:

  • Type, revise and draft letters (including form letters)
  • Type, revise and draft memos (including form memos)
  • Transcribe dictation of letters using transcription software (Dragon)
  • Enter information into customized, electronic case management program
  • Review, update and print case management summary (docket sheet)
  • Set up files
  • Prepare check requisitions to Accounting Department
  • Send documentation via Internet, facsimile, Federal Express and/or regular mail
  • Maintain and keep form book and corporate informational books up to date
  • Utilize Internet to confirm factual information
  • Utilize Temple Jurisdiction Program to reference correct Temple in file
  • Manage and apply new procedures


  • Strong typing skills (minimum of 60 wpm)
  • Strong proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong telephone skills

Proficient in Internet use
