Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Performing data entry functions.
  • Assists in running payroll cycles and balancing and reconciliation of payroll-related accounts.
  • Handles all incoming mail. Sends garnishments to payroll provider.
  • Acts as backup to the other roles in the payroll department to cover absences.
  • Answers employee inquiries regarding paycheck items by explaining payroll policies and procedures.
  • Assists with data entry and other testing functions when modifications or upgrades to the Payroll System are necessary.
  • Performs tax setups for fallouts and completes tax inquires. Maintains outstanding tax log. Works directly with payroll tax provider to resolve amendment issues. Reports on outstanding tax issues through Metrics each month.
  • Runs payroll cycles (i.e. weekly pay runs, semimonthly pay runs) according to payroll schedule. Assists in resolving out-of-balance issues.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required (Associates Degree preferred)
  • 1 year experience as a Payroll Clerk/Admin/Coordinator or related field
  • FCP or CPP Certificate (or working towards) is highly preferred
  • Experience with either Oracle, Ceridian, ADP, Paylocity, or relative system is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.
  • Able to navigate within Excel spreadsheets
