Job Description

We are looking to hire a full-time payroll specialist for our client in Somerville. The chosn candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities.

Essential responsibilities and duties include:

  • Prepare and process payroll through Paylocity
  • Prepare and submit Certified Payroll Reports (CPR) including submission to government authority
  • Perform certified payroll for prevailing wage jobs
  • Preparation and calculation of prevailing wage (when applicable)
  • Interface with HR to reconcile benefits, pay and employee status changes
  • Prepare payroll side of annual audits including 401K, Workers Compensation and internal audits
  • Prepare payroll related journal entries
  • Support the preparation of Form 5500
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant payroll experience
  • Bachelors in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Experience with Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to keep all payroll and personnel information confidential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • French Fluency, a plus
  • Notary Public
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple locations, preferably multi-state
  • Great Plains experience, a plus
  • Experience with Paylocity processing
