Senior Staff Accountant

Summary:

This Senior Staff Accountant position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for timely and accurate reporting and analysis of financial information. This includes review & analysis of various Balance Sheet and P & L accounts, recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for general accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, P & L analysis, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assisting with various accounting related projects
  • Ensure that all transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner and that adherence to the monthly close schedule is strictly maintained
  • Ensure the organization's financial transactions are properly recorded in the correct accounts within the organization's general ledger and in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with the annual audit performed by external auditors, including the preparation of adequate work papers that support the financial statements

Education and/or Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
  • Demonstrated competence with ERP or Accounting software applications (i.e. Eclipse, Oracle, Great Plains, Peachtree)
